The Inaugural Event: How it happened, who was there

3rd February 2017 was a very special day for the IMA in the UK.

We held our inaugural event.

The event was a full day affair, with some fascinating speakers, great interactivity and dialogues from all present, and of course the opportunity to network before, during and after event.

And particularly over the great lunch provided by our hosts, the Hilton Hotel, Hyde Park – great organisation and hospitable support guys!

Attendees included:

  • UK IMA members
  • members from IMA Europe
  • representatives of press and publishers
  • outside speakers Brendan Wilkes of BDO and Tony Hill of Jaguar Landrover
  • and our guests of honour from IMA: Jim Gurowka and Alex Eng

The picture above is the founding board, all volunteers, with IMA Chairman elect Alex Eng. Alex spoke on corporate governance:

Then in the afternoon, Brendan Weekes of BDO brought us a thoroughly uptodate overview on Fraud Prevention

To wrap up, Tony Hill, from Jaguar Land Rover, shared some really wide-ranging, current and practical insights on the costs side

For those of you who did not make it, we will shortly be announcing the next event. We hope to make it a webinar – just as interesting, with the opportunity to engage and ask questions,  and easier to fit in to your busy schedules.

Press coverage was sensational: in particular AccountingWeb, The Accountant and Accountancy Live all had a take on the significance of this event. Links here:
