Data and Technology Applications, Data Strategy

So, what is the difference between AI and Generative AI?

AI (Artificial Intelligence) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think and act like humans. AI covers various techniques such as machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.

Generative AI, on the other hand, can be viewed as a subfield of AI. I focuses on creating new data, such as images, videos, or text, that imitate or extend existing data.

In simple terms, AI can be used to solve various problems such as image classification, speech recognition, and natural language processing, whereas generative AI is primarily used for creative purposes, for example generating new art, music, and literature.

In a nutshell, while traditional AI techniques are designed to classify and interpret existing data, generative AI can create entirely new data that can be used for a wide range of applications, including virtual assistants, video game development, and product design.
